The ARLA Institute in ESPO/Helsinki is one of the partner-organisations of “E-Learn-ViP”. This institute founded the E-learning conference “Virtual Vision” some years ago and carried out the 3rd issue of this conference from June 15th to June 18th 2005. The subject area of this conference included all aspects of accessible E-Learning services for people with visual handicaps. This conference was mainly addressed to professionals from all Europe , working in this field of education.

The origin and number of the participants gave evidence that this subject is obviously very important and problematic.

In this context, the invitation from the ARLA Institute to present the E-Learn-ViP project during this conference, was a good opportunity to promote the project and it's aims. During a presentation, the coordinator of the project, Mr. Juergen Huellen explained all aims, stages and developments of this project. He also figured out the possibility for education centres, E-Learning service providers and developers to collaborate in this project.

The feedback of the audience gave clear evidence, that this project is obviously focused on the actual existing problems, concerning E-Learning for people with visual restrictions.
Besides of presentations the conference offered workshops, where experiences of all participants could be exchanged.

The project was well represented during the “Virtual Vision III”, because all three workgroup-managers and all Finnish colleagues of the project staff of E-Learn-ViP joined the conference.
This of course offered the occasion to organize a short workgroup meeting to coordinate the final work on the developed rating system for E-Learning components.
